The Goals page, it should show how far behind or ahead
The goals page has the nice diagram showing if you are on track or not, and the total units and days to go, but it is left to the user to calculate on their own how far ahead or behind I am today. Seems like the computer could calculate this for me and display it between the units remaining and the days remaining, right under the graphic.

Although thanks for your long thoughful reply, even in your example I don't have a problem with the system telling me on Friday that I'm x distance behind my goal, it is true and I know I'll make it up the next day. Likewise it could show me that I'm ahead of my goal which might serve as some justification to take a little break before getting myself hurt. Having the number up not bother me, especially in the balance I have to have the calculator or spreadsheet to calculate (portion achieved) * daysGone/daysTotal.

In practice the idea has a major flaw: It requires an assumption that progress is a perfectly linear progression.
It is somewhat a safe assumption for goals that are very long, such as a year total goal, however as goals get shorter the assumption is usually false, and particularly problematic on the most common 1-week goal. This results in showing a precise but false number - a poor feature.
Consider a hypothetical goal to run 70 kilometers in a week, planned as follows: Monday: 10, Tuesday: 10, Saturday 20, Sunday 30. And so, it comes to Friday, and we have only run 20/70 kilometers as planned, and have 50 remaining, exactly ok. But a linear assumption would be 50/70 km, and so, it appears we are actually 30km behind, when we are not.
As a compromise to these competing goals, the software will show this data graphically in a chart, to give a sense of progress, but doesn't provide a falsely precise number.
